Wheelie Bin Cleaning Service in Central Alberta

One route, five communities

Bin cleaning is a route business. A truck that washes carts in Red Deer on Tuesday can be in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday and Lacombe on Thursday, which is exactly why service across Central Alberta is practical even though each individual clean is a modest ticket. The corridor from Ponoka down through Blackfalds, Lacombe, Red Deer, and out to Sylvan Lake holds well over 130,000 people, nearly all of them wheeling carts to the curb on a weekly or bi-weekly cycle.

The problem is the same everywhere in the region: our summers are short but hot, garbage sits in a sealed plastic cart between pickups, and organics carts in particular brew an impressive stew of bacteria and odour. Fly eggs hatch into maggots in as little as 24 hours in warm weather. By August, plenty of carts in any Central Alberta cul-de-sac are carrying a residue that a bucket of soapy water on the driveway cannot reach — and the driveway method sends that dirty water straight toward a storm drain anyway.

What route-based cleaning looks like

A cleaning truck follows the municipal collection schedule. After the hauler empties your cart, the operator lifts it over the truck's wash bay, blasts the interior with hot, high-pressure water, washes the exterior and lid, applies a deodorizer, and captures every litre of wastewater onboard for proper disposal. The whole cycle takes a couple of minutes per cart, which is what makes an affordable subscription possible.

Town-by-town details are on their own pages:

Pricing across the region

Expect typical Central Alberta rates of $20–40 per cart per clean, with monthly subscriptions at the lower end and one-time deep cleans at the upper end. Acreage properties outside town limits can usually be served too, though they may be grouped onto a rural day rather than the in-town route — mention your location when you request service and the intake assistant will flag it for the operator.
